Emily Kunkel spent over a decade dedicated to the power generation industry, working
on a multitude of traditional generation technologies and decarbonization technologies.
After joining Thornton Tomasetti in 2022, she started to work directly with the built
environment to support solving critical energy and decarbonization problems with the
perspective and insights from the energy sector. She has a background in process
engineering uses this to approach solving key hurdles in the industry, from technical due
diligence of novel technologies and techno-economic evaluations, to energy balancing and
master planning. Today, she works with hyperscalers, architects, and MEPs to use adapt
learnings from the power sector to the built environment to meet high energy demand,
reliability, and sustainability.
